About SciDrones

SciDrones P.C. is a pioneering spin-off from the University of the Aegean, founded in 2021 on Lesvos Island, Greece. Our company was born from over a decade of research in coastal mapping, remote sensing, geoinformatics, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technologies. The founding team, with extensive expertise in these areas, is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of geospatial data collection and analysis.

As an innovative leader in UAS and environmental monitoring, SciDrones has been recognized as a winner of the prestigious #CassiniEU Maritime Prize. This award highlights our role in utilizing #EUSpace technology to address critical environmental challenges, such as detecting and removing marine litter from oceans and waterways.

Our core mission is to revolutionize remote sensing and geoinformation processing through cutting-edge technologies. We specialize in the development of advanced machine learning algorithms for scientific research, environmental monitoring, and industrial drone inspections. By integrating UAVs and artificial intelligence, we transform raw remote sensing data into actionable insights, empowering decision-makers with precise, real-time geospatial information.

At SciDrones, we leverage our multidisciplinary expertise in Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Informatics, Robotics, and Environmental Science. Our drones, equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and imaging technologies, offer unparalleled accuracy in solving spatial challenges.

We are committed to advancing scientific knowledge through collaboration with leading research institutions and industry partners globally. By developing tailored solutions for specific applications, SciDrones aims to drive innovation and reshape the future of visual intelligence in decision-making.

Our equipment

The Scidrones team owns and operates the following fleet of UAVs.

DJI Phantom 4 RTK

The phantom RTK is a small, reliant drone that offers customers centimeter-accurate data while requiring fewer ground control points.

DJI Matrice M30T

The Matrice M30T integrates wide, zoom, and thermal cameras with a laser rangefinder, which together can capture the aerial data needed for monitoring critical infrastructure.
